Teens and Healthy Eating

    With all the pressure of fitting in and being popular it is really hard for a teen to eat right. Don’t deny yourself a snack like a chocolate bar or ice cream. Having these snacks once in a while is fine, and if you eat some once in a while, it will be better than overdoing at a later time because you deprived yourself.

Tips to healthy eating

             1. Snack healthy
             2. Drink milk                   
             3. Drink lots of water
             4. Limit caffeine
             5. Eat three balanced meals a day

    We all know eating foods like potato chips, candy, sodas, etc is bad for you, but what is healthy eating. Well, you can start by eating three meals a day on a regular schedule and including most of the basic food groups in these meals. Never skip meals, it tends to make you overeat later, which is bad for you. Limit fried foods and unhealthy sugar and salty snacks. Snack healthier with grapes, apples, oranges, and fruit snacks when you do eat between meals. Watch out for theses caffeine drinks, and don’t overeat. Fix smaller potions and take your time when eating a meal, it will make you feel full faster with less food.

Why eat healthy

    When you are a teenager you need the vitamins and menials that only a healthy diet can achieve. It will help you be less susceptible to virus and disease. Even though vitamins may help with you diet, they can’t replace a good meal and is not sufficient to make up for not eating correctly. Iron and other needed minerals and vitamins from a healthy diet will give you more energy and make you feel better while getting through every day obstacles. Eating healthier will make you feel better both physically and mentally. Good healthy meals plus exercise make a big different in how you feel, and how you handle everyday stress.
